Yup, you heard me – MEAT-ZA! No flour here tho. This is a whole new kind of pizza. The entire crust is made from meat! For this recipe, I used ground chicken, but you can use any ground meat you prefer. It’s got an unbelievable flavor, anti-inflammatory power and is loaded with healthy fats!

Crust Ingredients:
1 lb. of ground meat of your choice
1 egg
1/2 cup of almond flour
1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. minced garlic
Sauce Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
2 tsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. coconut flour
1/2 tsp. curry powder
1/2 tsp. turmeric (optional)
2 tsp. fresh lime juice
Topping Ingredients (all are optional):
1 cup mozzarella cheese
Pinch of cilantro
Fresh lime juice
Other preferred veggies
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Prepare meat crust. Mix meat, egg, almond flour, shredded cheese, salt and garlic in a bowl.
3. Bake meatza crust. Place meat mixture onto a well-greased cookie sheet, pizza pan or on parchment paper over a pizza stone. Roll out until desired shape and thickness is formed. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until crust looks toasted. Take out of oven. I also like to take a flat spatula and peel crust off of pan before putting it back into the oven – so it doesn’t bake too much into the pan.
4. Prepare meatza sauce. While the crust is cooking, prepare the sauce. In a sauce pan, melt butter on medium heat. Add coconut flour and mix until a paste forms. Add coconut milk and stir until mixture is combined. Add salt, curry, lime juice and turmeric. Blend. As sauce thickens, turn off heat. The consistency should look similar to tomato sauce. Perhaps a little bit thicker.
5. Cook pizza. Smear sauce onto meatza crust. Sprinkle with cheese and other desired toppings. Bake another 10 minutes or until desired melting has occurred.
6. (Optional) After pizza has cooled and if you are looking to add some more healthy fats – drizzle oil (I like sesame oil for this recipe) on top with a few pinches of cilantro. Enjoy!
